UBOT
sweeps, vacuums, and mops simultaneously.
It thoroughly sweeps and vacuums the floor, even picking
up tiny dust particles and uses an anti-bacterial wet-cloth
to make the floor clean.
UBOT can complete a cleaning job within 10 minutes on
a 100 sq. ft size floor and it does not damage furniture.
It has an artificial intelligence movement system which
1) reads barcodes to construct a navigation algorithm
and operate successfully without missing an area, 2) uses
wall following technology and a side brush to effectively
clean the corners, and 3) uses a focus cleaning mode which
allows user to clean a specified area.
User is able to see UBOT’s status either by looking at
the window display screen or listening to the voice helper.

UBOT-Navigation:
It travels by reading invisible barcodes on hard floors.
This enables UBOT to perform fast and efficient cleaning
tasks without missing areas and saves battery power due
to the recognition of location. In addition, it automatically
returns to the docking station to recharge the battery
regardless of location and distance between UBOT and the
docking station. UBOT-General:
Preprogrammed cleaning mode system leads to faster cleaning
time and less power usage. There are three cleaning
modes: 1) Full Cleaning Mode allows UBOT to clean a
large area using different types of cleaning methods,
2) Spot Cleaning Mode allows UBOT to effectively clean
a 1m x 1m (1.1yd x 1.1 yd) size square area, and 3)
Corner Cleaning Mode allows UBOT to only clean the corners
by following the wall.

*Patented
soft silicon rubber bumper sensor:
UBOT has a soft silicon rubber bumper in front to protect
all objects including humans, pets and furniture, and
UBOT itself during cleaning. *Non-toxic
anti-bacterial wet-cloth:
In order to mop hard floors, UBOT uses a rolling wet-cloth.
Wet cloth contains an extract from a pine needle which
is called Phytoncide. Phytoncide is an anti-bacterial
produced by a plant to protect itself from harmful insects
or microorganisms. It is a natural non-toxic extract
which is safe for people and has a pleasant aroma. User
only has to change the wet-cloth every 20 days when
UBOT is used 1 hour daily.
*Invisible two dimensional barcodes
and barcode reader:
UBOT is able to construct a navigation algorithm using
topological structure by reading barcodes on the floors.
Thus, UBOT can successfully clean quickly, decrease
repetitive cleaning and clean corner areas.
*PSD and Bumper Sensors:
Six Position Sensing Device (PSD) sensors work in any
type of lighting conditions, no matter how bright or
how dark. Even if PSD sensor does not detect an object,
the soft silicon bumper sensor will protect all objects
and UBOT as well.
